Uncle David

Created by Peter 3 years ago

My first memories of my Uncle David were at Woodfield Kidderminster. I remember him being the recipient of a brand new Hillman Minx. A car we would travel in from Prestatyn for holidays with our Grandparents.

We moved to Cornwall in 1982 and during the latter years David was a regular visitor to the Housel Bay Hotel on The Lizard. We would invariably meet up for an evenings socialising. We had a mutual interest in Rugby. David was a Leicester season ticket holder and I still followed the fortunes of my pre Cornwall club of Gloucester. On a couple of occasions we walked together around Mullion and Cadgwith.

When visiting relatives in Lutterworth and York we would call in to see David in Appleby Magna. He would treatvus to a meal at the Appleby Hotel. we had arranged to meet up last April , but unfortunately it never happened due to the lockdown.

David was a generous and warm uncle and very good company. We shall miss him.
